I was awarded my Ph.D. from University of Virgina in 2000 and subsequently performed my postdoctoral training at UCSF with Prof. Gerard Evan
In 2008, I started my own research group at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany before moving to the University of Glasgow and CRUK Beatson Institute in 2012. I gained promotion to Professor of Lung Cancer & Mesothelioma in 2020.
Genetically engineered mouse models of Cancer form the cornerstone of my lab’s research which focusses on the biology of early thoracic Cancer development and progression. Collaborative research is key to our work and accordingly, I currently contribute to 3 major research consortia, the CRUK-funded Accelerator, PREDICT-Meso; the UKRI-MRC-funded National Mouse Genetics Network; and the CRUK-funded Scottish Cancer Centre.
