The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has introduced a new Vehicle Telematics Solutions [RM6315] agreement, designed to help customers enhance their fleet management capabilities through advanced telematics hardware and software

This agreement, effective until March 4, 2026, exceeds the previous Vehicle Telematics Hardware and Software Solutions [RM6143] agreement, which expired on April 23, 2024.

Vehicle telematics solutions gather a wide range of data about vehicle usage and driving behaviour. This includes real-time location tracking, fuel consumption, speed, and movement. By using this data, fleet managers can make informed decisions, improve driver behaviour, ensure compliance with fleet policies, and manage risks more effectively.

What does the new agreement mean?

The new agreement consolidates all available products and services into a single-lot structure, simplifying the procurement process for buyers. The key benefit of the new telematics solutions is their ability to provide real-time vehicle data, supporting efficient fleet management and risk reduction.

For instance, tracking solutions like driver ID and automated driver benchmarking can enhance on-road behaviour, reducing the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and property damage. This proactive approach helps organisations maintain safety and compliance standards.

Improving fuel efficiency

Sustainability remains a central focus of the new agreement. Vehicle analysis tools offered under this framework assist customers in achieving their carbon reduction goals by improving fuel efficiency. These tools also support the transition to zero-emission vehicles.

The new Vehicle Telematics Solutions agreement will run for two years, providing a stable and reliable framework for public sector customers. It represents a streamlined and efficient route to market, granting access to a wide range of sustainable and safety-conscious telematics solutions.

This framework exemplifies the value CCS delivers by connecting customers with the solutions they need to optimise their fleets. A noteworthy feature of the new agreement is its high inclusion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 90% of the suppliers awarded places on the agreement are SMEs, reflecting CCS’s commitment to supporting smaller businesses.

Innovations in the new agreement include a simplified single-lot structure that encompasses a wide range of vehicle telematics solutions. This consolidation allows buyers to easily identify the best solutions for their needs. A new simple order form has been introduced to streamline the customer journey, providing straightforward access to the full range of products available.

Specific solutions are now available for specialist and heavy vehicles, such as those used in waste management, winter maintenance, and other Streetscene operations. There are also tailored solutions for customers engaged in covert operations and blue light-related fleet and incident management.
