Rocket Healthcare has launched a specialist employee management and communications app for care homes and social and domiciliary care companies. The Care Home App is now available to care sector companies in the UK and Ireland

Building on its success in the health sector working with an increasing number of NHS Trusts, Rocket Healthcare has now created a digital staff management solution for the care sector, designed to streamline processes and improve efficiency. This will allow the companies to reduce time spent on administration, enabling them to deliver better outcomes for their clients, those for whom they provide care.

Rocket Healthcare is a division of Mobile Rocket, a North-East-based software development company. Malcolm Brechin, Director of Strategic Development, commented: “We have spent several years concentrating on delivering just what the NHS Trusts wanted in their product, ensuring not only a high-performing app but also the reassurance of brilliant customer service and support. Now, we’re delighted to be offering our technology to the wider care sector. Having worked closely with numerous care sector businesses, we have created an app that provides all the features asked for, together with, of course, the support and training that Rocket Healthcare is known for.”

Rocket Healthcare’s original app was developed to provide a solution for NHS 0-19 services, connecting people in the community with the healthcare workers and school nurses who support them. The combination of high quality, agile technology and the training and aftercare provided by Rocket Healthcare has led to an expanding client list of NHS Trusts across the UK, with over 100,000 people using the app each week. Additionally, this app is now being adopted by other service areas within the NHS, as well as council-run family hub services.

The new tool delivers for the care sector

The new care home software delivers a staff management solution for residential homes, care homes, and providers of domiciliary care. The app is branded to be the individual company’s communication tool, and Rocket Healthcare has partnered with several companies to deliver the highest-quality services and features within the care home app.

Partnering with TrustID, the UK’s top certified identity service provider (IDSP), the app ensures cost-effective and simple ‘right to work’ checks. It also enables quick reference completion and securely maintains the completed information, accessible only by the company. For new staff, the app provides quick onboarding, delivers e-onboarding packs, inductions, and training videos, and allows the legal signing of digital documents.

The CRM element of the software incorporates numerous requested features, including shift management and rostering, holiday and absence management. The integrated purpose- built staff calendar reduces the need for spreadsheets, ensuring all team members know what is required of them, when and where. Furthermore, the incorporation of advanced geofencing technology means that staff can be automatically clocked in, while time sheets are updated automatically when they use the app to clock out.

With the Rocket Healthcare app, companies can be confident that their information is securely stored and that any required reports are available instantly. The detailed data supplied makes payroll easier to run while also allowing companies to understand their staff’s workload better and assist them with the development of future care strategies.

Vital accreditations to give the care sector confidence

To provide its clients with a first-class digital tool, Rocket Healthcare works with 8Fold Governance to complete and maintain all required clinical security accreditations, adopting a scrupulous approach to information governance and compliance at all times.

It has achieved and maintained the following accreditations:

  • DSPT – Data Security and Production Tool Kit. This self-assessment tool allows an organisation to measure its performance against the National Data Guardian’s ten security standards.
  • DCB0129 – Clinical Risk Management. This provides evidence of the clinical safety of Mobile Rocket’s app.
  • DPIA – Data Protection Assessment. This assessment is designed to identify risks arising when processing personal data.
  • D-Tac – Digital Assessment Criteria. This provides confidence that the digital health tools used meet clinical safety, data protection, technical security, interoperability, usability and accessibility standards.

The Rocket Healthcare difference

But what makes Rocket Healthcare stand apart from other services in this sector? The company is committed to working with its clients to precisely deliver the employment management and communications app they require and supporting training so that staff adapt quickly to using the app.

She commented: “Working with the team at Rocket Healthcare has been such a positive and supportive experience. I am delighted with the training and aftercare we have received. Nothing is too much trouble for the team. Our staff have been able to embrace the development of the Rocket Healthcare app and described feeling energised and excited about moving our digital transformation agenda forward for our staff, clients and families.”
