A specialist in NHS property, estate asset management and corporate real estate services, Shane is a Chartered Surveyor and a highly regarded property professional and was the lead author of the latest edition of Estatecode (HBN00-08 Part A: The efficient management of healthcare estate and facilities) for the Department of Health.
He was the estates director responsible for the estate transformation plan in response to a major service redesign on behalf of NHS England. The client requested significant changes to their target operating model with a transition plan that reduced the overall operating budgets over a period of 5-7 years. Shane had to implement the rationalisation of 29 properties and creation of three new business hubs; reducing the property cost by £7 million per annum. The work was scrutinised and reviewed heavily by the Cabinet Office.
He has led many complex estate and service transformation programmes, including land transfers, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, leasing, development agreements etc. and is retained by both Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust (mental health) and North Bristol NHS Trust to provide strategic and property advisory services. Over the past seven years he has worked to create and implement estate optimisation strategies, disposal programmes, working alongside executive, finance and clinical teams.
