    Imperial College London

Allan Lawrie is Professor of Pulmonary Vascular Diseases at Imperial College London. Having previously held an MRC Career Development Award and two BHF Senior Fellowships, he has a track record in leading translational research programmes in understanding the molecular mechanism of pulmonary hypertension and applying machine learning to real-world data for early disease detection and precision medicine approaches to cardiovascular disease.

Working across academic and industry partners, Allan has been utilising AI tools applied to NHS Coding data and, more recently, personal activity data to identify patient trajectories. Allan has a long-term collaboration with Euan Ashley (Stanford) and with In-Kind Investigator support from Apple Inc. to integrate activity data collected via the MyHeart Counts App with healthcare records. Allan co-leads the remote monitoring theme of the Imperial BHF Centre of Excellence. His specific research questions are centred around investigating the association of personal exposures, including activity, with cardiovascular disease clusters.
