    Phillip Miller is the Kermit Wagner Distinguished Professor in the Animal Science Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL).  Dr. Miller was born and raised in central California (Visalia).  He received a B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science from the University of California-Davis (1985, 1987; respectively) and a Ph.D. in Nutrition from the University of California-Davis in 1990.  He currently maintains a research appointment in swine nutrition and is responsible for undergraduate and graduate livestock nutrition courses. Dr. Miller’s research has focused on energy and amino acid nutrition in growing, finishing, and reproducing pigs. He has trained over 20 M.S. and Ph.D. students and has published 75 refereed journal articles, 115 scientific abstracts, and 108 station reports. He served as a reviewer, editorial board member, associate editor, and division editor for the Journal of Animal Science. Dr. Miller was a member of the committee that revised the Nutrient Requirements of Swine (NASEM, 2012). Dr. Miller currently serves as the Chair of the Coordinating Committee for the National Animal Nutrition Program, National Research Support Project-9.
