STIR Foundation – Sustainocracy, Transformation, Indexation, and Research

STIR was founded in 2009 to initiate independent research on a societal approach based on the application of a set of existential human values as a shared responsibility for all local people and institutions

The foundation presented five of such essential values, together with a positive invitation to each of the fragmented operational silos in society (government, citizens, business, science and education) to join into prioritized, project-driven action clusters.

A totally new regional operational dynamic emerged, coined as a Sustainocracy, in which regional core natural values, such as integral and positive health, are designed, created and shared together.

The results have proven to impact and empower each contributing participant, strengthening the local community and balancing its economic development while creating warm, cooperative bonding between the engaged. Money became just one of many means, the goal: the common existential purpose of the joint commitment.

The position of STIR became that of a linking pin, safeguarding the core values to be achieved while developing a sense of equality and appreciation among each of the participating individuals and institutions.

Key local prioritizations, with a long-time character, developed their own dedicated, values-driven, multidisciplinary cooperative managed by STIR. One such example is AIREAS for regional environmental quality and health.
