Nearly 73% of Canadians support the development of the eVTOL industry, driven by job creation, economic growth, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions

A nationwide study conducted by Horizon Aircraft reveals that an overwhelming 73% of Canadians are in favor of the development of air taxi services and hybrid electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) aerial vehicles.

This growing support stems from the potential benefits such as job opportunities, economic growth, and environmental advantages in cutting greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion.

Willingness to embrace eVTOL tech

According to the research, nearly four out of five Canadians (78%) express willingness to fly in eVTOLs once they become commercially operational.

The study found that only a small minority of 7% would never consider using eVTOLs, while 15% remain undecided. The positive attitude toward eVTOL usage is due to its potential for job creation and economic boost, as well as its contribution to reducing carbon emissions.

Canada’s prospective role in the global air taxi industry

Industry data suggests a bright future for the global air taxi and urban air mobility industry, with projected revenues soaring from $2.3 billion in 2021 to $30.7 billion by 2031.

The research conducted by Horizon Aircraft indicates that 75% of Canadians believe this positive outlook should encourage the government to provide increased support for the sector, with 68% aspiring for Canada to take the lead in eVTOL development.

Horizon Aircraft’s innovative approach

Horizon Aircraft, a Canadian-based leader in hybrid electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) aerial vehicles, is paving the way for the country’s eVTOL industry.

Their flagship aircraft, the “Cavorite X5,” is a promising eVTOL design suitable for business aviation travel as early as 2026. It boasts a maximum passenger capacity of four, a pilot, and a 500 kg (1,100 lb) payload with an impressive average range of 800 km (500 miles) with total fuel reserves.

Additionally, Horizon’s innovative technology allows the Cavorite X5 to fly 98% of its mission like a traditional aircraft, enhancing safety and streamlining certification.

The plane demonstrates cutting-edge efficiency and sustainability with a hybrid electric system capable of recharging in-flight and providing extra system redundancy.

The company’s diligent testing of its 50%-scale aircraft minimizes technical risks as they progress towards developing the full-scale model.

Strong Canadian support for eVTOL industry

As the eVTOL market continues to expand rapidly, Canadian support is rising, with public sentiment recognizing the potential to establish Canada as a prominent world leader in the eVTOL industry.

With solid backing from regulators, the government, and the public, Horizon Aircraft is leading the way in revolutionizing air travel with its innovative eVTOL technologies.
