CBD and growing trust: Sowing the seeds of good health

Over the past seven years, CBD wellness company Savage Cabbage has grown from a small family-run business into a globally recognised, high-quality brand, trusted as an authoritative voice, even in the corridors of Westminster

In 2016, in hospital and at her lowest ebb, founder Jade Proudman was introduced to the natural healing properties of CBD. Experiencing a profound benefit, Proudman wanted to help others who were experiencing poor health. She founded Savage Cabbage, initially as a support network. Today the business is multinational, selling full spectrum hemp oils across the globe.

As the Savage Cabbage brand has grown, so too has Proudman’s influence on the industry she helped build. She is now a UK representative for the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), sitting on the Secretariat advisory board for the Westminster All Party Parliamentary Group for Industrial Hemp and CBD Products, where she pushes for clearer and fairer regulation and legislation in the UK.

A growing recognition

Proudman’s commitment to physical and mental health, quality wellness products, and a safer CBD environment for all has been acknowledged globally. It has seen Savage Cabbage become the exclusive product distributor for the number one US CBD brand, Charlotte’s Web, across the UK – a valuable partnership that continues to this day. And most recently, Proudman’s commitment has been recognised by the office of HRH King Charles III. In August 2023, Jade was invited to be a part of the celebratory album ‘King Charles III: Future Leadership and Innovation’ in recognition of her contribution to society.

The large, glossy hardback, created by renowned media group St James’s House, is due for release in November 2023. It celebrates King Charles III’s recent coronation and his 75th birthday. It also celebrates the innovators and society champions with whom he shares his values and vision of a modern Britain.

Celebrating life

Proudman’s inclusion in the album acknowledges the hard work she has put into a business that champions a better life for all. It highlights the alignment regarding complementary natural medicines, physical and mental wellness, and the support of thriving local communities. Her inclusion is a nod to the natural world of how hemp – a ‘wonder plant’ according to Proudman – not only has terrific wellness properties but is also one of the planet’s most efficient sequesters of carbon. Its use as a raw material in everything from housing insulation to animal feeds could go a long way to helping the UK meet its Net Zero commitments by 2050.

Proudman’s inclusion is also a celebration of business and innovation. Savage Cabbage has always been as much about supporting the community as selling wellness products. It is a perfect marriage of purpose and commerce, a contemporary business that gives back to its customers in multiple ways.

Worlds of opportunity

With such an endorsement, Proudman gains a unique platform to share her narrative of achievement across cultural, social, technological, and business arenas. The album offers Savage Cabbage unparalleled exposure on a global stage, aligning the endeavours of the business with the best of Britain and the Commonwealth. And with it, not only does Proudman get to contribute to one of the most compelling life stories of recent times, but her involvement will open doors to cultivate new business relationships and establish an even stronger international brand presence.

And with that presence comes opportunity. This month, Savage Cabbage is thrilled to announce its partnership with the global healthcare business Cannim. Based in Sydney, Australia, Cannim has excelled in building a robust organisation focused on the three pillars of safety, science, and scale. In just six years, its founders have successfully established a company that highlights the medicinal qualities of cannabis, adhering to internationally recognised pharmaceutical standards and establishing extensive networks to reach those in need.

Today, Cannim is an industry leader in research, education, and innovative administration methods. Its teams work hard to make cannabis more accessible and affordable for those who require its benefits most. It oversees cultivation operations across Australia, Jamaica, and Canada, ensuring a scalability that meets the growing needs of medicinal cannabis users everywhere. It continues to partner with EU GMP manufacturers and collaborates in education and healthcare in multiple geographies, where it aims to establish cannabis as a wholly accepted and reputable natural medicine.

With their shared values and drive across all endeavours, Jade Proudman is proud to call the international team at Cannim and Savage Cabbage true partners.
