Professor Alistair Greig was trained as a Marine Engineer by the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors before joining University College London (UCL)
At UCL, he is a member of the Marine research group and Deputy Head (education) of the Mechanical Engineering Department. His research interests include green shipping, concept ship design, and the interplay between legislation and technical development. He also has a strong interest in training and education.
He regularly acts as a subject expert for the European Commission. He is chair of the UK Engineering Accreditation Board, a member of the Board of Trustees for the IMarEST and a Principal Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
