Dr. Anthony J. Berdis has over 25 years of research experience in the several biochemical fields including mechanistic enzymology, medicinal chemistry, cancer biology, and cancer chemotherapeutics
Dr. Berdis is currently a Professor of Chemistry at Cleveland State University (Cleveland, Ohio). In addition, he is a member of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of only 53 Comprehensive Cancer Centers designated by the National Cancer Institute.
Dr. Berdis is an internationally recognized expert in the field of the synthesis and testing of novel nucleotide analogs as both therapeutic and diagnostic agents target DNA polymerase activity. His research is funded by several agencies including the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and the National Science Foundation. Over his career, he has published over 90 research papers and book chapters.
