Beatrix Vereijken is Professor of Medicine/Human Movement Science at the Department of Neuromedicine and Movement Science, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway
She was an early recipient of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences fellowship, and co-founder and first Head of the Department of Human Movement Science at NTNU. She is the scientific leader of NeXt Move, the medical faculty’s Core Facilities for neurophysiology, exercise physiology, movement and elite sports at NTNU.
Her research focuses on mobility across the lifespan, active ageing, activity monitoring, and the development and implementation of health technology. She has published over 140 academic journal papers and book chapters in her field. She set up and leads the Exergaming for Active Ageing and Rehabilitation research program and the Game Technology for Health network.
Beatrix is a member of the Project Executive for Mobilise-D (www.mobilise-d.eu) and leads the work on communication, dissemination and exploitation of results. Mobilise-D is a Public-Private Partnership funded by the European Innovative Medicines Initiative 2 Joint Undertaking, which aims to validate and obtain regulatory approval of mobility assessment using digital technology to enhance clinical trials and aid clinical management.
