Colin has worked in dementia care for over 15 years, within home care, residential care, and as a dementia support worker for the Alzheimer’s Society before going on to manage services for the Society across London. Colin managed the Society’s Service Development Team and led development of Dementia Adviser Services, Carer Information and Support Programme, and initiated projects to develop and test innovative services for people affected by dementia from South Asian backgrounds, and self-management interventions for people with dementia.
Since moving into Research and Development, Colin has been responsible for evaluation and impact measurement, including the development of the Society’s Impact Framework, research translation and innovation and contributed to the development and delivery of the Society’s New Deal on Dementia Strategy in establishing and working with our research Centres of Excellence. Colin has an MSc in Dementia Studies and has a special interest in evaluating the impact of Dementia Friendly Initiatives and the role Technology can play in improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dementia.
