Head of the R&D Eco Bio Technologies Department in CETIM, Cristina Martínez holds a PhD and a Master Degree in Environmental Science and Technology and Degree in Chemistry
All degrees obtained at the University of A Coruña (Spain).
Cristina has been involved in the development more of forty national and international research and developed (R&D) projects related to her research activities. Since 2013, she is developing her career in CETIM in charge of the R&D ECO BIO Technologies Area. Her research has been mainly focused on wastewater treatment technologies based on advanced oxidation processes (photocatalysis), membranes, adsorption, etc.
Furthermore, she has also extensive experience in developing of circular economy projects based on biotechnology /chemical processes for the resources recovery of high value such as metals, functional ingredients, proteins, biocides natural, fertilizers, etc and the biotransformation of organic residual streams in biopolymers, etc. Furthermore, Cristina has expertise in the development of Life Cycle Analysis of several products and processes (water treatment, bio-based products; recovery of critical raw materials, …).
