    He possesses over a decade of experience in both research and consulting endeavors. David primary research interests lie within the human dimensions of coastal environments.

    Currently at GERICS, David empowers coastal communities to adapt to climate change:

    • Champions the integration of climate services into coastal and beach management and governance.
    • Fosters bottom-up solutions to adapt to climate change impacts on coastal regions.

    Driven by a comprehensive academic journey:

    • Mastered marine biology and ecology, earning a BSc in Spain and an MSc through a prestigious international program. University of A Coruña (Spain), Ghent University (Belgium) and Pierre and Marie Curie University (France)
    • Completed his PhD on the project Monitoring Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas, participating in the renowned Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Programme. Athens University and Hellenic Center for Marine Research (Greece).
    • Possesses extensive post-doctoral experience, focusing on the human dimensions of coastal areas in Ireland and Italy. University College Dublin (Ireland) and International Marine Center (Italy).
