Jeanine Houwing-Duistermaat is Professor of Statistics at the Department of Statistical Sciences “Paolo Fortunati”, University of Bologna
She is passionate about data. Her research interests include statistical bioinformatics, in particular modelling of multiple omics datasets simultaneously. She works with biochemists, biologists, epidemiologists and clinicians. Together with Gastone Castellani, Professor of Applied Physics/Biophysics and expert in modelling of biological systems, including the neural and the immune system, she develops network methods for multiple omics datasets. They have also organized interdisciplinary training of PhD candidates in the EU funded Marie Curie training network IMforFUTURE (www.IMforFUTURE.eu), which was coordinated by Jeanine.
