MICHAEL C. PARKER received a BA (double 1st class honours) in electrical & information sciences and a PhD in optical communications technologies (Cambridge University, 1992, 1996)
He worked for Fujitsu in Colchester, Texas and Ipswich 1997-2007 and since then as a Technical Leader or Technical Manager on a number of large EPSRC and EU research projects developing information networks (most recently CHARISMA, SAMBAS and QAssure). He is affiliated to University of Essex as aVisiting Fellow (Visiting Professor 2004- 2007) and is a consultant (Lexdens Technologies Ltd.)
Dr. Parker is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers), member of the American Institute of Physics, a member of Opticaand a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology. He is a Chartered Engineer.
