Eric Coronel is passionate about using agricultural data to tell sustainability stories
Before joining the American Peanut Council as Director of Sustainability, Eric was a Senior Research Analyst at Field to Market, a multisector sustainability alliance in the U.S. for commodity crops.
At Field to Market, Eric conducted agronomic research, developed sustainability metric benchmarks, and improved the data analysis capabilities of the organization. Eric’s most important work at Field to Market was performing the data gathering, analysis, and calculations for the 2021 National Indicators Report, a peer-reviewed scientific report produced every five years that tracks the sustainability of eleven commodity crops in the U.S., including peanuts. Eric’s previous professional experience includes being a Research Agronomist at the John Deere Technology Innovation Center in Champaign, Illinois. Eric provided agronomic expertise, conducted data analysis to support business needs, and led on-farm research projects across the Midwest.
Eric holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Environmental Science and a Ph.D. in Crop Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
