    Fernanda Pembleton is the communications specialist for the Computer and Information Science and Engineering Directorate at the U.S. National Science Foundation.

    In this role, she works directly with the scientific community, industry leaders, academia and Government agencies to promote the progress of NSF-funded foundational research and education programs in all areas of computer and information science.

    Prior to joining NSF, she worked as a public affairs specialist at the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General where she specialized in internal strategic communications, and for the Defense Health Agency where she managed communications promoting the understanding and scientific discovery of traumatic brain injury and its impact on Service Members and their caregivers.

    Fernanda holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Universidad Americana (Nicaragua), postgraduate degree in Senior Management from the Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico), and M.A. in Strategic Public Relations from Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California.
