Janusz Wojciechowski has been the European Commissioner for Agriculture since 2019
Janusz is responsible for ensuring a modern and sustainable EU agriculture sector, supporting a swift conclusion to negotiations on post-2020 Common Agricultural Policy, working with Member States on Strategic Plans, developing a long-term vision for rural areas and supporting young farmers and ensuring a fair income.
He contributes to the ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy, develops action plans for organic farming and avoiding intensive farming and reducing the use of pesticides, fertilisers and chemicals.
He also explores new ways to strengthen the system of geographical indications, improves animal welfare standards and conducts an impact assessment of trade deals.
