Prof. Ken-Ichi Kobayashi received his Ph.D. in agriculture from Kyoto University in 2005
Since then, he served as a JSPS Research Fellow from 2004 to 2005, Assistant and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences, Tokyo University of Agriculture from 2006 to 2017, and as a visiting scholar at the University of Sydney from 2011 to 2012.
Kobayashi has been a professor of Notre Dame Seishin University since 2017, where he is now vice president for academic affairs. His research interests include nutritional biochemistry and amino acid science. He is currently conducting research on organ fibrosis incliding chronic kidney disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, and tryptophan metabolism, as well as exploring functional food ingredients that protect the body against these diseases.
