Markaya is the Health Policy and Project Officer at the European Disability Forum
She advocates for the highest attainable standard of health for persons with disabilities in policy and practice. She previously worked for a pan-European patient organisation and brings a strong commitment to service user involvement in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and programmes related to health. Her work is also informed by her lived experience as a mental health service user and previous work as a complimentary healthcare provider.
