Dr Nur Bahar is a plant biologist by training. She studied leaves, their carbon exchanges and metabolism during her doctorate research in Australia. En route to home, she made short transit at the Center for International Forestry Research, Indonesia as a consultant on future food security and its impact on forests. She also worked on jurisdictional approaches to low emission development. Next, she co-convened a Functional Ecology field course jointly offered by Australian National University and Nanyang Technological University. Currently, she works at Tropical Rainforest Conservation and Research Center and manages forest conservation and restoration initiatives with local communities in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak.
