Marcantonio M. Spada, Ph.D., FBPsS, FBABCP, is a Professor of Addictive Behaviours and Mental Health, and Dean of the School of Applied Sciences at London South Bank University where he is also the Deputy Lead of the Centre for Addictive Behaviours Research
His main research focus is on identifying metacognitive factors involved in the development and maintenance of addictive behaviours with the central aim of developing and evaluating new psychological treatments which target metacognitive change. The author of over 175 scientific journal articles and three books, Professor Spada also serves as both Editor-in-Chief of Addictive Behaviors and Addictive Behaviors Reports, and as Associate Editor of Clinical Psychology & Psychotherapy. He has been a Consultant CBT practitioner with Onebright since 2011.
Before re-training as a psychologist and CBT practitioner, Professor Spada worked as an investment analyst in the banking sector. The experience gained in this field, combined with his CBT expertise, has provided valuable support and insight for clients with stressful careers, performance anxiety, and work-life balance problems.
Professor Spada has over 20 years of experience as an academic, psychologist, CBT practitioner, and workshop facilitator with international standing in the field.
