Richard is Head of Research at the Stroke Association, where he leads the research programme, implementing the charity’s research strategy
Our ambitions include building the stroke research community across a range of disciplines and increasing investment in stroke research priorities. We have a focus of career development and becoming a system leader in involving people with lived experience in research and by establishing partnerships with other funders.
Richard has over 10 years of research management experience. Before joining the Stroke Association, he worked at Versus Arthritis, CRUK and Breast Cancer Now. Before moving into the charity sector, Richard conducted a PhD and Postdoctoral research in translational cancer biology. He has experience in research funding, science communications, patient and public involvement and strategy development.
