Richard Saumarez

Dr Saumarez qualified in Medicine and Biochemistry from Guy’s Hospital London. He studied Biomedical (Electrical) Engineering at the Engineering in Medicine Laboratory, Imperial College, London and gained a PhD. He was trained in Cardiology at Birmingham and in cardiac electrophysiology at St George’s Hospital, London. He has worked in the field of experimental cardiac electrophysiology by using his electrical engineering background to develop new equipment and signal processing techniques applied to cardiac electrophysiology, in particular developing electrophysiological methods for the investigation of sudden cardiac death.
