By the age of 10 Simon had built his first computer and he was already a prolific programmer
Following his natural path into technology, he was rapidly promoted to Lead Project Manager at Williams Lea pioneering their inhouse intranet as an early adopter of the internet.
He went onto to become the youngest Technical Director of the top ten UK listed Digital Agency Reading Room, promoting the benefits of a well-designed yet simple infrastructure for driving business growth but always aware that technology serves the business, and is not an end in itself.
In 2002 Simon set up Digital Craftsmen, inspired by the values of Software Craftsmanship which emphasises that there is no one size fits all, and technology is more a craft than a production line.
Over the years Simon has worked on a great number of projects, using many technologies across multiple business sectors. Throughout his years of experience, he remained true to the principle that the expertise and skills of the people using the technology is what drives the greatest business value.
His emphasis on always delivering added value at every point has resulted in productive client partnerships. The company has grown steadily over two decades with many longstanding clients who continue to put their trust into the expertise and skills of the craftsmen.
Digital Craftsmen has evolved over the years under Simon’s leadership, and it has always remained true to its best practice cyber security triumvirate of People, Processes, and Technology. In accordance with its strict security and quality policy, the team undertake regular cyber security training, and certifications with the company achieving ISO27001 for the seventh year with commendations, Cyber Essentials, Investors in People, and ITIL accreditations.
