Sonya Gospodinova is the Spokesperson for internal market, defence industry, space, education, youth, sport and culture at the European Commission
After graduation, Sonya joined the European Commission where she first dealt with legal aspects of the EU agricultural policy. Subsequently, Sonya worked on the enforcement of the EU procurement legislation and on the modernisation of the EU procurement rules. For several years, she was part of the European Commission’s negotiating teams dealing with the WTO Agreement on Government Procurement and the EU Free Trade Agreements with third countries before she took on a junior management position in the field of internal market and free movement of services. Currently, she is in charge of communication on Commission policies and activities falling in her portfolio. She speaks Bulgarian, English, German and French.
