Dr. Stephen J. Vanner MSc MD FRCPC (Gastroenterology) FCAG FCAHS, is a Clinician Scientist and Professor of Medicine at Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada
He also serves as the Director of the Gastrointestinal Diseases Research Unit (GIDRU) and the Director of Clinical Research at the Kingston Health Sciences Center and the Queen’s Health Sciences Faculty.
Dr. Vanner’s longstanding research program focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of peripheral visceral pain signalling. More recently, he co-founded pHarm Therapeutics Inc. with Dr. Christoph Stein, a Clinician Scientist at Charité University in Berlin. Their company is dedicated to developing pH-sensitive analgesics that effectively treat a wide range of inflammatory disorders without causing addiction or adverse side effects.
