This contract is important for British exports and shows the role of UK Export Finance (UKEF) in promoting international partnerships and driving economic growth through renewable energy projects and support for UK companies

Dints, a London-based project integrator with over 18 years of experience, played a central role in bringing together various stakeholders for this deal.

The company works as a bridge between buyers, suppliers, logistics, providers, and funding partners.

UKEF’s role in supporting international partnerships

By using the UKEF’s financial backing, Dints has been able to help with the purchase of more than £12.5 million worth of equipment for use in Angola’s infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

The equipment, which includes vehicles, plant machinery, and other essential resources, will support the development of vital projects in the country.

The importance of international trade

A big part of this deal is UKEF’s loan guarantee issued to Apple Bank, which allows the Portuguese contractor MCA to access financing for the purchase.

This helps MCA secure the necessary resources but also creates a ripple effect, which will benefit UK manufacturers who will supply goods and services for the project.

These include companies from various regions of the UK, such as Leicestershire, Yorkshire and Humber, Staffordshire, County Armagh, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire. The deal shows the value of international trade, particularly in sectors like infrastructure and renewable energy, where British expertise and manufacturing capabilities are in high demand.

Growing the UK economy: Renewable energy projects

This partnership is part of the UK government’s wider strategy to strengthen exports and grow the economy.

By supporting businesses in reaching new markets, the government aims to create new jobs, encourage innovation, and increase the competitiveness of British industries globally.

For Dints, this contract represents another milestone in expanding its reach, having already facilitated over £21 million in exports to countries such as Peru, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, and Botswana. These projects help generate significant employment opportunities within the UK, particularly for manufacturers producing the goods and services required for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Sustainability and long-term growth

The collaboration also shows how UK businesses can successfully work with international companies to address global challenges. By integrating UK and international suppliers, Dints has made UK exports more accessible while facilitating critical infrastructure and renewable energy projects in developing regions.

This model offers a pathway for businesses to engage in international trade without facing the common challenges that often come with exporting to new markets. It also reflects the growing recognition of the importance of sustainable development in driving long-term growth, both in the UK and abroad.

The collaboration between UK manufacturers involved in this project, such as YorPower and King Trailers, provides a unique opportunity for them to expand their operations into new markets.

YorPower, for instance, is able to extend its footprint into Angola, contributing to the country’s energy transition. King Trailers, a supplier of specialised transport solutions, will help ensure the safe and efficient movement of equipment, playing a key role in supporting the development of Angola’s infrastructure. For these companies, working with Dints and using UKEF’s support has simplified the complexities of international trade, making it easier for them to enter and succeed in emerging markets.
