Here the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership explains how it is attempting to use up to date Labour Market intelligence (LMI) to improve several areas in need of attention – especially in the aftermath of COVID-19
In the wake of the pandemic, it has never been more important for local governments and the public to have access to the most up-to-date and current information on the labour market and skills availabilities in local areas.
In having access to ‘robust government data’ there was a noticeable and “significant lag” in especially during the COVID-19 pandemic on government and workplace data. This eBook explains that “we cannot use the past to predict the future” and how there is a necessity for timely and accurate information in order to ensure the future job security and satisfaction.
SWELP have worked collaboratively with business and education providers to create spaces where up-to-date information is easily accessible for anyone who needs it. Through the use of four case studies, this eBook shows just a few examples of the ways in which SHELP have worked collaboratively across the Swindon and Wilshire area.
Career hubs
Using Labour Market Intelligence services, the Swindon and Wiltshire have been able to create spaces for people to find information such as career hubs designed to inspire young people in particular to find the right job sector for them that has both availability and space for growth.
This eBook shows how Swindon and Wiltshire “piece together a more up-to-date picture” by pulling together a number of different data resources.
