Motor control in Monkey’s has been studied at the University of Fribourg since 1975. To be more specific, the neural mechanisms underlying the precise and sophisticated control of voluntary movements, with emphasis on the hand. Several non-human primate centres and laboratories worldwide have contributed to these efforts. IN 2013 the University of Fribourg and Zurich joined forces to create a Swiss Primate Competence Center for Research (SPCCR).
