Graham Taylor has developed the business from a sole engineer company to cover multiple disciplines of healthcare engineering and having a team of five authorising engineers supported by other engineers and a back-office team.

Alongside this, GPT Consult offers support to trusts with capital projects and has been involved in small-scale projects, like a new modular theatre for a client, through to multimillion pound flagship hospital buildings.
The project support will span the complete spectrum from early design engagement to completion, validation and handover.
GPT Consult is also able to offer other services like condition surveys to support a holistic review of plant and associated systems. Likewise, complete audits can be performed to support with management reviews or PFI compliance.
IHEEM Conference 2024
Following the success of last year’s event, GPT Consult is pleased to announce that it will once again be attending the IHEEM Conference in Manchester on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th October 2024.
This will be an ideal opportunity to come and meet the team of engineers and support staff and find out more about what they do.

GPT Consult training centre
To support our clients ever-growing need for specialist and bespoke training, GPT Consult opened a training centre based at its head office in Leicestershire. It offers a range of courses including Authorised Person for Ventilation AP(V) and Competent Person for Ventilation CP(V).
GPT Consult has recently agreed to support one of its clients with a bespoke training programme at the client’s site, running sessions in blocks over a number of weeks to allow attendance from the maximum number of the client’s estates team without overly impacting workloads and ensuring there is contingency on site while the training is in progress.
Your expert witness
Peter Taylor LLB was a founding member of GPT Consult in 2012 and supported the firm alongside a successful legal career in London. He now leads its expert witness work on a consultancy basis and is on hand to support the engineering team where legal implications may be present.
Working across the spectrum supporting PFI providers, NHS trusts and patients with expert opinion, drawing on the experience and expertise of Graham and the team.
Recent support includes a patients claim against a hospital where they contracted an infection post-operation.
Going the extra mile for our clients
This September, GPT Consult’s senior authorising engineer Paul Crothers will be heading to the Southern Hemisphere to support his client, King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in the Falkland Islands.
Paul will be spending over two weeks in Stanley. While there, he will support the hospital with a detailed condition survey of its ventilation systems, competent person training, production and review of ventilation policy, and validation and verifications as required.
Technical director Louise Clark has been providing enhanced on-site support for a large client based in the south.
To support a skills gap on site, Louise has been embedded with the estates team to share her experience and knowledge with the client to enable them to become more self-sufficient.
Louise has supported with the implementation of a number of important processes, assisted in recruitment of personnel for key roles and been crucial in progressing capital projects.
