Greg Jackson, Sales Manager at Framespan, discusses the recent co-development of Framespan by NHS England and its role in supporting the commercial strategy of the NHS and wider public sector
NHS England has co-developed Framespan, a platform designed alongside NHSE’s core values, allowing commercial best practice and governance using cutting edge technology that enables collaboration.
With this co-development, Jacqui Rock, Chief Commercial Officer for NHSE, has requested that all 20 accredited framework providers be given priority in searches conducted on Framespan. This prioritisation means that NHS buyers will see frameworks from accredited framework providers first, simplifying their search for high-quality, approved options. This change aims to make procurement processes quicker and more efficient, ensuring that NHS trusts can access the best available frameworks without delay, ensuring they are purchasing from accredited hosts, as per the new policy.
Access to a comprehensive range of frameworks
Despite this prioritisation, Framespan continues to provide access to a comprehensive range of frameworks to those users within the wider public sector such as universities, local authorities and police forces. Users can still explore a wide array of options, ensuring they find solutions that perfectly meet their needs. The platform’s user-friendly interface and extensive database remain intact, offering a broad selection beyond the NHS accredited frameworks.
‘Framespan has gained significant traction and has been adopted by over 100 NHS organisations since it was launched in 2022. NHS England has no funding for a centrally procured licence for all trusts but provides further information in this paper which should inform trust purchasing decisions.’ – NHSE
NHSE: Adopted by over 100 NHS trusts

While NHSE does not currently provide central funding for a universal licence, trusts are encouraged to contact Framespan for more information and to explore the platform’s capabilities further.
The co-development of Framespan is a significant step forward in modernising procurement processes within the NHS. This partnership reflects a commitment to innovation and efficiency, promising a future where NHS trusts can navigate procurement with greater ease and success.
