In the UK, over 2.2 million people have received the first round of the COVID-19 vaccine between 8th and 10th December, according to the latest figures
Between the 8th and 10th of December, 2,286,572 people received the first round of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The breakdown in each nation is:
- England: 1,959,151
- Scotland: 163,377
- Wales: 86,039
- Northern Ireland: 78,005
2,675,213 doses have been administered overall in the UK – excluding the number of second doses in Scotland.
The NHS will be offering a vaccination to everyone in the top four priority groups as set out by the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) by 15 February.
This includes:
- All residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
- All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
- All those 75 years of age and over
- All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals
Secondary priorities could include those at increased risk of hospitalisation and at increased risk of exposure.
