A proud history…
Power On Connections is the UK’s largest and market-leading Independent Connections Provider (ICP), specialising in designing and delivering high and low voltage electrical infrastructure to high-rise residential, commercial, public sector and renewable energy projects.
Established in 2003, we provide electricity infrastructure for new connections which traditionally could only have been undertaken by the host incumbent Distribution Network Operator (DNO). We have seven strategically positioned offices across the UK, providing national care at a local level.
Fibre-to-the-Premise (FTTP)
We also deliver the ultimate FTTP solution providing telephone, broadband and satellite TV services via a single network connected to the local exchange straight into each apartment on high rise residential developments.
We take away the delays and frustrations typically encountered with other communication infrastructure providers, providing a stress-free superior solution delivered, on time and within budget. Our streamlined processes minimise delays and risk of penalties with fibre-ready homes handed over prior to home owner occupation.
More reliable, more dependable and faster than any copper-based network, FTTP from Power On Connections offers:-
- Unique rebate models – rebate or no cost installation*
- FIRS option for access to a wide range of satellite and free to air services including 3D, HD, Sky Q, On-Demand viewing and DAB radio.
- Minimal builders work required by the developer to accommodate our network
- Inclusion of site office and marketing suite phone and broadband connections. Our Customer Sales team will also attend site to offer advice and support for your sales staff and potential homebuyers.
Knowledge and experience…
Our competent and highly skilled design and construction teams have successfully completed over 8,000 contracts since our inception, connecting over two gigawatts of electrical infrastructure, the equivalent of 2,000 megawatts or enough electricity to power around 160,000 homes. We believe our technical capabilities are unrivalled and pride ourselves on delivering innovative and competitive designs for our longstanding client base of major developers, main contractors and consultants.
A unique position…
Our parent company BUUK Infrastructure, the leading independent provider of last-mile utility networks, owns and operates over 30,000 discrete networks serving over 1.3 million utility connections. We are a NERS (National Electricity Registration Scheme) accredited provider, and were the first company in the UK to gain full accreditation under the new two stage scheme for ICPs, which is assessed by Lloyd’s Register.
Our company is CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) registered.
Self-Accreditation
Accredited to conduct ‘self determination’ in our key DNO regions, Power On Connections can ascertain the nearest point of connection to serve your development, speeding up your application considerably.
Power On Connections can also self-approve designs in-house, providing a complete ‘one-stop shop’ and is one of the UK’s first ICPs to be accredited to undertake self-connection works. We are Lloyd’s accredited for 11kV and low voltage self-connection jointing and operational work.

A responsible approach…
A critical element of our business is risk management, be that technical, commercial, environmental or health & safety. Our challenge is to adopt a flexible approach that recognises the significance of these risks to our clients, employees and the general public. We take this challenge extremely seriously and promote a positive health & safety culture at all times. All our connections are completed to the highest safety and quality standards, and hazard, near miss and completion of daily site specific risk assessments form part of our safe systems of work.
Leading influence for market change
“Utilities are time critical in every development project, and our senior management team is determined to work alongside Ofgem, the DNOs and other ICPs to advocate further change. Our position with the BUUK Infrastructure group means we are uniquely poised to offer multi-utility infrastructure, not just electricity and gas but also superfast fibre, water, district heating and energy systems, and we believe this continuity offers our clients a vital advantage and enables greater choice for everyone.”
