The UK government has launched its latest version of the G-Cloud procurement framework, G-Cloud 14; this is designed to simplify access to cloud-based computing services for public sector organisations

This allows government agencies, local authorities, healthcare institutions, educational organisations and emergency services to effortlessly procure cloud services.

What is the G-Cloud 14 framework?

With a variety of suppliers offering secure, pay-as-you-go cloud solutions, the G-Cloud 14 framework hopes to enhance digital resilience across the public sector.

G-Cloud 14 exceeds G-Cloud 13, building on its predecessor’s advantages by offering a diverse selection of cloud solutions across multiple categories.

These include cloud hosting, software, and support services, allowing public organisations to tap into the latest cloud technologies with reduced complexity and faster procurement.

G-Cloud 14 prioritises accessibility to innovative solutions from suppliers of all sizes, including a high proportion of SMEs, enabling a competitive marketplace and providing organisations with a wider selection of services.

Approved G-Cloud 14 suppliers

In alignment with the G-Cloud framework’s goals, Defense.com has been reaffirmed as an approved G-Cloud 14 supplier, offering its cyber security solutions under Lot 2 (Cloud Software) and Lot 3 (Cloud Support).

Defense.com, a recognised provider of strong enterprise-grade cyber security solutions, previously participated in G-Cloud 13. Their platform has been optimised to address the growing threats faced by public sector organisations, equipping them with vital tools to strengthen their cyber resilience in line with the government’s cyber security strategy.

Cyber resilience

Public sector organisations will benefit from Defense.com’s integrated platform, which provides threat monitoring, vulnerability scanning, and staff training programs. Designed to simplify complex security challenges, the platform also offers managed SIEM services with 24/7 proactive threat detection, as well as Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. With these capabilities, organisations can identify, prioritise, and respond to cyber threats effectively, ensuring they are well-equipped to protect essential services.

According to recent data, around 52% of public organisations report resource limitations and skill shortages as significant challenges in building cyber resilience. Defense.com’s services address this by offering managed solutions that relieve the demand for in-house resources while enhancing security.

Their presence on the G-Cloud Marketplace also provides public sector buyers with affordable, high-value cyber security solutions that help reduce breach costs, minimise downtime, and optimise insurance costs. With accessible consultation and compliance management options, public organisations can achieve a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy while keeping operational costs low.

Through G-Cloud 14, Defense.com continues to make advanced cyber security accessible to public sector organisations, helping them to defend against a constantly changing threat landscape.
